The treatment of our veterans is ridiculous, not simply in the obvious the VA is a joke and a travesty way. What people are expected to simply “deal with” is horrible. People are expected to shut up, sit down and look straight ahead when anything screwed up is going down. I’m more familiar with the “old school” vets. The new ones make me sick to my stomach. Granted many are wonderful, doing what they believe in and are respectable and upstanding people. The screwed up ones shouldn’t define the rest. I believe we can agree on this.
Yes? Okay then moving along nicely.
There are the very obvious sick ones. like Cesar Armando Laurean who isn’t a Marine regardless if he made it through boot or not. I refuse to put any supposed “rank” he claimed here.
The Corps jumped the shark on this and got a girl and her unborn child killed. He was reported in April, still free to off the girl in December. Makes sense right? No? Not to me either.

I was in the Army from 1992 to 1995. I lost an NCO because of the military attitude about domestic violence.
She had caught her boyfriend molesting her daughter, sent the daughter home to live with a grandmother, and had the creep arrested. The whole time he was in jail he said to anyone who’d listen that he was going to kill her. After he got out, too. But he had no car, so he couldn’t make the trip from Vidalia to Hinesville.
Then one day someone gave him a ride. I went in to work that night and my co-worker handed me her DOA admission form.
She had practically begged Top to get her transferred to Korea. Her daughter was safe, but she wasn’t. The Army denied her request.
This is how much our service is valued. Use us as fucktoys and then kill us when we step out of line. I don’t think the guys who commit these crimes are involved in a coordinated effort to scare women out of the military but I sure do think the brass takes advantage of these crimes for that purpose.
It is going to take Congress and the White House opening up a can of whoop-ass all over the brass at the top. Nothing else. Their so-called “traditions” are at stake and those are more important than human lives. That’s got to end, and NOW.
