I lost an NCO because of the military attitude about domestic violence. She had caught her boyfriend molesting her daughter, sent the daughter home to live with a grandmother, and had the creep arrested. The whole time he was in jail he said to anyone who'd listen that he was going to kill her. After he got out, too. But he had no car, so he couldn't make the trip from Vidalia to Hinesville. Then one day someone gave him a ride. I went in to work that night and my co-worker handed me her DOA admission form. She had practically begged Top to get her transferred to Korea. Her daughter was safe, but she wasn't. The Army denied her request. This is how much our service is valued. Use us as fucktoys and then kill us when we step out of line. I don't think the guys who commit these crimes are involved in a coordinated effort to scare women out of the military but I sure do think the brass takes advantage of these crimes for that purpose. It is going to take Congress and the White House opening up a can of whoop-ass all over the brass at the top. Nothing else.
